-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EXHIBITION SMALL TOURIST ARCHITECTURE
Exhibition setup and curation of the content

Project description: Exhibition showcased 50 international examples of innovative business concepts in tourism with quality
architecture. A good architecture is often regarded as an unwanted or
unnecessary cost. This view tends to forget that good architecture
injects added value into its neighbourhood, its locale and the wider
region, and that poor architecture reduces the value of a place.
Architecture in tourism needs to be repositioned as a long-term
investment and not as merely a short-term solution.
The show was divided into four chapters displaying different concepts
of interaction between architecture and business ideas: small hotels,
renovations, rental houses, and mobile/temporary. Featured cases came
from different regions of the world and from very different climatic and
other conditions. Exhibition was a part of Month of Design in Slovenia.

ROUND TABLE
Besides the exhibition we coordinated round table on 18.10.2012 at Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Center. Round table was organized
to show the potential of Slovene tourism in connection to architecture
and wood-construction business. Different leading persons from tourism
and wood-construction business were invited to explain their point of
view. Furthermore two mayors were asked to tell what municipalities
could do on local political level to encourage such activities.

In December 2012 also a special edition of HIŠE architectural magazine
was published with the title Small Tourist Architecture where we
described 50 exhibited projects and prepared interviews with the owners
